James Tate, King of Romance or Criminal?
Wednesday, May 11th, 2011If this is how he asks a gal
to the prom, how do you
suppose he will propose
to his wife?
Shelton High responded by banning him from the prom. The letters were cut out of cardboard and put up with tape. I say harmless, cancel the prom if the most romantic kid in town can’t go!
UPDATE: Tate and Sonali will be able to attend the prom after all. The school administration has reversed their decision:)
Splitting after 25 years
Tuesday, May 10th, 2011Celebrating Mother’s day with ICED TEA
Sunday, May 8th, 2011I had trails and roads to fix and the excavator was having starter issues. Once I got it started I knew I needed to do as much with it as possible since I would need to get a starter installed before using it again. Halfway through a hot day of work I ran low on diesel. I normally get the diesel myself but since this was Mother’s Day I took the empty cans to the house and told Julie since it was Mother’s Day I would LET her do it as a way to celebrate. It looked like I had her undivided attention at that point, but I was wrong. Apparently instead of listening to what I had been saying my wonderful wife was noticing how hot I looked. Showing how resourceful she is, she immediately dumped her entire glass of ICED TEA on me. Gosh, what a gal, she was even willing to give up her tea to help me feel better!

Some literary liberties were taken in the telling of this story:)
Do you care who your daughter marries?
Friday, May 6th, 2011I read this quote in the TIME article posted on YAHOO NEWS:
“Despite the huge age gap, the Yemeni family considered it an honor to marry off their daughter to bin-Laden. The al-Qaeda chief reportedly paid $5,000 in jewelry and clothes for his teenaged bride who was then brought to Afghanistan to marry the grizzled warrior – already on the U.S. most-wanted list for his role in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.”
I cannot understand how it could be an honor to have your daughter marry bin-laden. Even if they agree with what bin-laden was doing, how can parents want that life for their daughter?
