Trey Canard is on his feet!

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Sure is good to see God answer prayers with a big YES! He doesn’t always grant us what we ask for, but this time he did. Trey has been a blessing to us, and I am sure countless others. We pray that God not only blesses him with a speedy and full recover but also with the right words to inspire others that are struggling with similar injuries/accidents. Saving energy

We heat with wood to save on the energy bills. It actually takes a lot of energy to cut and stack and split enough wood to heat the whole house in cold weather. Saving energy by heating with wood

Excavator repairs

daewoo dh50 ring gearThe excavator has been having starting issues. I had the starter rebuilt and that fixed it for a dozen or so starts. I thought the ring gear was bad because it would never crank more than about 7/8 of a rotation and always seemed to stop in the same place. It was no small job to pull it down far enough to remove the ring gear. Now that I have it out it does not look as bad as I thought it would. I Hope the new ring gear fixes it. At this point I am still waiting for it to come in. According to the parts man, the gear missed last weeks shipment for an unknown reason but should be in this next weeks shipment. When it gets to him then it will ship to me. I hope it gets here before the weather gets cold. I am working outside on this and I am not a fan or working with numb fingers.

The TALK with the future son-in-law.

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

A young woman brought her fiance to visit her parents. After a nice dinner, the father invited the fiance to the library for a talk.

“So what are your plans?” he asked the young man.

“I am a seminary student,” he replied.

“A seminary student. Hmmm,” said the father. “Admirable, but how will you provide a home for my daughter?”

“I will study,” the young man said, “and God will provide for us.”

“And how will you buy her an engagement ring, such as she deserves?”

“I will focus on my studies and God will provide for us.”

“And how will you support your children?”

“Don’t worry, sir. God will provide.”

The conversation continued like this; each time the father questioned, the young man insisted that God would provide.

Later, when the mother asked about the male conversation, the father sighed, “Well, the bad news is, he has no job and no plan, but the good news is: he thinks I’m God!”

Our track loader runs again!

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Thanks to donations from Daniel and Stacie Wyatt along with Mike and Lynda Purcell our Track loader runs again. Many of you would consider it a bulldozer but we have a grandson that keeps us honest on types of equipment. Now that the transmission is fixed, our next goal is to give it a tune-up with new injectors and a couple new batteries so it won’t need to be jump started.Fry Lakes strongest resident

chocolate for the wife

A lady was walking down the street when she was a approached by a lady beggar asking shopping wifefor money. The lady took a $20 bill out of her purse, and asked “if I give you this money will you spend it on chocolate.” “Don’t be ridiculous” the beggar replied “does it look like I have nothing better to spend money on?” “How about shopping?” she asked. “No,” the beggar said, “don’t you understand I need wife's hair appointmentsmoney just to stay alive.” “Will you spend it on your hair?” the lady asked. Annoyed the beggar replied, “No, I just need money for food, and shelter. “In that case” the lady said “I don’t want to just give you money I would like you to eat out with me and my husband tonight.” “Why?” The beggar asked. “Well,”the lady said “I think it’s important for him to see what a lady looks like after she gives up chocolate, shopping, and hair appointments.”

Brute gets a new heart

brute at work on the fry lake damTwo different couples both donated money for the parts to fix our loader/dozer (BRUTE). I decided this nice weather weekend was the time for me to do my part and get the labor done. I am pretty much working on my head because I am changing a transmission pump at crankshaft level, but I am working from on top of the rocker cover. I put a red arrow in the picture to show where I removed the old pump today. Hopefully the weather will hold and I can get the new pump installed in the next week or two. If this transmission repair fixes the problem the next items will be new batteries and injectors. Then I will be able to move on to excavator repairs. The ring gear is out on it so the motor will need to be pulled I think!
