To October and back

My foot has been slowly improving (for those who do not know, I broke my ankle getting off a horse about a year ago) and when my parents visited for Thanksgiving my dad bought me a pair of high-top hiking boots with better ankle support. Yesterday I walked up in the canyon to survey its potential and consider possible options. It occurred to me that everything was not dry and brown like most of the rest of Oklahoma in December. It appears that the canyon is in a slight “time warp” where it appears to be early October, so walking into the canyon and back gives you the illusion that you have just walked to “October and back”. In my opinion the canyon is the second prettiest part of the property behind the lake.
